Phonics

Statutory phonics screening takes place every year for Year 1 pupils. In addition to this, Year 2 pupils who did not pass the phonics screening the previous year are asked to resit.

Ofsted is the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills. Ofsted regulate and inspect schools and colleges to seek improvement in the service. They carry out large number of inspections and regulatory visits in England and publish their findings on their website.

Bishop Ian Ramsey Church of England Primary School converted to an academy (Durham Diocesan Multi-Academy Trust 'DDMAT' and subsequently re-named as Durham and Newcastle Diocesan Learning Trust 'DNDLT') on 1st October 2019 and has not been inspected yet.
